Downing Street in London is filled with buildings that are hundreds of years old and house some of Great Britain’s most important politicians.
Probably the most famous address on the street is 10 Downing Street London. Historically it was the home of the First Lord of the Treasury. However, since 1735 the roles of First Lord of the Treasury and the British Prime Minister have been filled by the same person. Therefore, in modern times 10 Downing Street in London is the home of the Prime Minister.
