Institute of Contemporary Arts

The Institute of Contemporary Arts is a cultural venue in London that features cinema events, visual art displays, music performances, and educational talks.  Located on The Mall off of Trafalgar Square, the Institute also houses a bookshop and bar.  The Institute of Contemporary Arts was founded in 1946 and has been in its current location since 1968.  The venue is known for displaying the works of Pollock and Picasso, and also for hosting the world’s first Cybercafe.

–The Institute of Contemporary Arts offers free admission to the exhibitions, bar, and bookshopPatrons who wish to see a film for a low price can visit the cinema every Monday, when tickets are only £5 apiece.  Those who present their cinema ticket stubs at the bar will receive a burger, fries, and choice of drink for £7.95.

–The Institute of Contemporary Arts is accessible by the Charing Cross and Piccadilly Circus tube stations, the Charing Cross train station, many buses that stop along Trafalgar Square and Cockspur Street, and by bicycle.  Car parks are located nearby on Whitcombe Street and Spring Gardens.

–The hours of operation for the Institute of Contemporary Arts are from 12 Noon to 11 PM on Monday through Wednesday, 12 Noon to 1 AM Thursday through Saturday, and 12 Noon to 9 PM on Sunday.  The bookshop is open until 9 PM every day except Sunday, when it closes at 7 PM.  The galleries at the Institute of Contemporary Arts are open every day until 7 PM and on Thursday until 9 PM.
