Shakespeares Globe Theatre
On a trip to London, fans of plays and literature may be eager to visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Whether to see an actual play or to take in some history, tourists flock to the theatre. Although it is not the original structure, there is plenty of history to be found when visiting.
The original theatre was built in 1599 and destroyed by a fire in 1613. Another theatre was built at the exact same site one year after the fire. That theatre closed in 1642.
