Cutty Sark in London

Tourists have been visiting the Cutty Sark in London for quite some time. The ship has been all over the world and in every major port. Captain Wilfred Dowman preserved the ship in 1922.

The preserved ship spent some time in Greenhithe and Falmouth. In 1954 ship was brought where it remains today, in Greenwich.

While visiting the Cutty Sark in London, you may be amazed to find out that when the ship was built in 1869 it was built to only last 30 years. In 2006 it became apparent that the Cutty Sark in London was in desperate need for some work. That’s when the Cutty Sark Conservation Project was started.
