Benjamin Franklin House

Benjamin Franklin House is a museum that is located at 36 Craven Street in London. This building was Benjamin Franklin’s place of residence and work for sixteen years during the 18th century.  Benjamin Franklin House became accessible to the public in January 2006, and serves as an educational facility as well as a historical museum. The house looks much the same as it did during Franklin’s lifetime, with the fireplaces, floorboards, and ceilings intact.

–Benjamin Franklin House offers a “Historical Experience”, which provides insight into Franklin’s home life through an actress who portrays Polly Hewson, the daughter of Franklin’s landlady.  The museum also includes a Student Science Centre with hands-on scientific activities and a Scholarship Centre for the research of Franklin’s various writings.
